Earth Day Suzuki Piano Masterclass!
It is always an honor having Robin teaching Suzuki masterclasses in Augusta! She has 30 years teaching experience, the last 24 years devoted to teaching and studying the Suzuki Method. Her training includes a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from University of West Georgia and she studied at the Talent Education Institute in Matsumoto, Japan with Dr. Haruko Kataoka, the founder of the Suzuki Piano Basics Method.
She is a co-founder and past-President of The Atlanta Area Suzuki Piano Association (AASPA), having directed many of its workshops and Concerts. In addition to her private studio, Robin has taught master-classes at Institutes, trained teachers in the Suzuki Method and has judged piano events such as GMTA auditions, Federated, and National Guild of Piano Teachers.
Robin's piano studio is located in Marietta. Many of her students continue study with her from pre-school to college and have won gold medal awards and summer camp scholarships through MTNA events. They have performed in Suzuki Piano Friendship Concerts and International Suzuki Method Ten-Piano Concerts in Sacramento, CA and Japan. Her students have been awarded scholarships to major in music in college.

Students that have completed their class session may enjoy light refreshments, grab their Earth Day goodie bag, and attend the Earth Day Augusta event at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park! Suzuki themed letterboxes will be hidden throughout the park based upon composer history and nature facts researched (such as The Honeybee, Cuckoo, etc.) during the practice of Suzuki pieces. Students will be given journals to take with them on the Phinizy nature hike for the inspiration of working on nature compositions.
Another fun family outdoor event on Earth Day is "Movie Under the Stars", located at Evans Town Center Park, Lady Antebellum Amphitheater! Pre-movie fun schedule TBA (free face painting, inflatable amusements, games, and giveaways by Navy Federal), and the movie chosen begins at dark (usually around 8:30 PM)
